WILDFIRE SMOKE SPREADED ACROSS THE GREAT LAKES. Smoke from wildfires across Canada and the western U.S. spread across the skies across much of the Upper Midwest and Great Lakes. The smoke dimmed the sun and created colorful sunrises and sunsets. It reduced visibility and creating a burning smell. The smoke also created air quality issues for sensitive people.
