WEATHER AND WATER TEMPERATURE  Weather and water temperature interact. Seasonal changes in weather leads to a dramatic change in water temperature causing the water column to mix top to bottom. Winter - water surface may freeze; the whole water column is near freezing. Spring - Sun warms surface water and when at maximum density it sinks, this process causes mixing.
