Oak root systems are as big as their canopies and will share water, nutrients, and diseases such as oak wilt. An infected tree shows signs by dropping leaves, browns up and dies the next year. No treatment can save the infected tree,” according to DNR. Next winter is the next opportunity to remove the tree.
