1.5 MILLION GALLONS OF SLUDGE TRUCKED FROM ER SEWAGE PLANT
Sewage sludge was trucked out of the county away from local streams, wetlands, lakes and homes – NOT land disposed in Torch Lake and Milton Townships. 2010 Crisis – locally land disposed sewage sludge ran-off. 2006 Crisis locally land disposed septic tank solids ran-off. TNN negotiated with ER Village officials that human waste not be land disposed in our narrow, water-rich townships. Tighter specifications agreed-on 2 years ago averted new crisis.
