In summer, you may find yourself sharing the beach at your cottage with neighbors or the public. So it’s important to know what your rights are along the water. Great Lakes Coast rules are different from inland lakes rules. Property owners along GT Bay have full use of the beach to the water’s edge; can use Bay waters the same as neighbors, and members of the public for recreation. This beach walker on Lake Superior just east of Marquette is probably in the right.
