GREAT LAKES MONTHLY WATER LEVEL FORECAST. Water levels forecast for May 6 are below last year on all lakes, except L. Erie, near year ago level, and L. Ontario, 19 inches above last year. Water levels on Superior, Lakes Michigan-Huron, St. Clair, Erie, and Ontario, are 4 to 7 inches above April. Lake Superior is near its long-term average. All the other lakes continue to be above their long-term average May levels.
