Summer warmth and less oxygen make a stream unsuitable for trout survival. Research shows removing nuisance beaver dams: cools the water; increases brookies populations & size; increases fish over 7 inches by 311%. In the Mountain West, steep streams may benefit from beaver dams’ deeper pools for larger fish.
